About Me
From a young age, writing has been my dream — it was in high school that I discovered my true passion for journalism. Now in my final year at the University of Missouri, I’m pursuing a Bachelor of Journalism with a focus on reporting and writing.
During my time as a city/county beat reporter for the Columbia Missourian, I immersed myself in local government, uncovering how political decisions shape our communities. My reporting has deepened my understanding of the critical connection between policy and everyday lives.
Beyond politics, I am dedicated to researching menstrual equity, particularly within carceral settings. I believe in the power of storytelling to shed light on overlooked issues and drive meaningful change.
The CSIS Journalism Bootcamp was an opportunity I am so grateful for. In May 2023 I spent a week in Washington D.C. with some of my University of Missouri peers.
Over five days we decided on an idea for a story package centered around the theme of declining democracy.
This was my first experience with both international journalism and data visualization. I was a part of a two-person data team focused on finding important statistics and creating graphs and charts to supplement the statistics used in the text piece.
